SUNY Broome split their doubleheader against Niagara County CC on Tuesday afternoon in a Region III matchup played in Sanborn.  Game one found the Hornets up 5-4 at the end of four innings of play, and up 9-5 going into the bottom of the seventh before the struggles began.  The Thunderwolves began a comeback bid that would fall just one run short, on some key hitting, baserunning, and costly errors.  Broome was led by Alea Tiffany and Mackensie Gravelin with three hits each, followed by Mikayla Garbarino, Paige Finch, Kylee Warner and Taylor Voorhis with a hit apiece.  Garbarino's only hit in the game was a homerun, her first of the year.

The struggles picked up right where they left off in game one for the Hornets (13-7).  The Thunderwolves (9-5) took a 3-0 first inning lead and never looked back enroute to the 12-0, five inning game.  Vicki Waugaman had control over the Hornets' bats, pitching 5 innings, striking out five, and allowing just one hit.

Broome returns home on Thursday for a MSAC doubleheader against Jefferson CC beginning at 3:00 P.M.
