The softball season ended on Tuesday afternoon in Syracuse with a 12-4 loss to Onondaga in the Region III Semi-Finals.  Onondaga's (16-7) hitting proved to be the decisive factor against the Hornets (14-9) in a playoff game that pitted the two MSAC rivals together in the first day of the Region III Championships.  In all the Lazers had 10 hits, including a grand slam in a 5-run third inning that quieted any hopes the Hornets had.  Broome was able to connect with the ball as well, managing 9 hits of the Onondaga pitchers.  Alea Tiffany went 3-3 on the day, one of those hits a triple to deep left-center.  Ashley Sisson had a multiple hit game, both singles, followed by Mikayla Garbarino, Madison Lapinski, Taylor Voorhis and Alyssa Hovey with one hit apiece.  Hovey also made her collegiate pitching debut, going the entire way for the Hornets.

SUNY Broome ended the season 14-9, a big turnaround from last season's 4-22 record.  Key defensive plays, some good hitting from top to bottom, solid pitching and individual sacrifices to better the team all contributed to the turnaround.
