The women's basketball team fell to Niagara County CC 68-39 in Sanborn on Tuesday evening. The Thunderwolves (7-1) got out to a 20-0 start in the first quarter and the Hornets (1-4) were never able to recover despite cutting into the lead in the second quarter.
Lydia Ladd (Johnson City, NY/Johnson City) led Broome in scoring with 10 points, going 4-4 from the field and 2-2 from the free throw line. Maddie Blackman (Binghamton, NY/Susquehanna Valley) had a season-high 14 rebounds and chipped in 6 points.
Broome will host North Country CC (5-1) this Saturday at 1:00 P.M. and turn around on Sunday to host another Region III contest against Clinton CC (0-4) scheduled for a 12:00 P.M. start.
