Kuhnen Having Immediate Impact For Chestnut Hill

Former women's basketball player, Caity Kuhnen, is having an immediate impact for Division II Chestnut Hill. Kuhnen received her A.S. degree in Business Administration from SUNY Broome in the spring of 2015 before joining the Griffins this fall.

During the 2015-16 basketball season she led the Hornets to post season births in both the MSAC and Region III Championships. Kuhnen played in all 27 of SUNY Broome's games and led the team in most statistical categories including scoring where she averaged 23.8 ppg.

Caity was named MSAC Player of the Week twice (January 12th and February 2nd), selected to the All-Conference Team and led the MSAC in scoring. She was also named to the first team 2015 Division III All-Region Team and was a Region III Athlete of the Week (wk.#8). At the national level Kuhnen was named NJCAA Player of the Week (wk.#1), earned NJCAA All-American honors for her hard work both on the court and in the classroom and here, at SUNY Broome, was the recipient of the Dick Baldwin Award.

It appears Caity is applying the same type of determination and dedication for the Griffins as she did while a Hornet. In only her first week for the Division II school she has earned Student-Athlete of the Week honors for her double-double effort, 15 points and 12 rebounds, in the Griffins 83-50 opening win over Dowling College.
