Women Fall In Johnstown

The women's basketball team fell in Johnstown, NY on Sunday 92-44 to Region III opponent Fulton-Montgomery. The Hornets (0-1) kept it close throughout the first quarter thanks, in part, to  7 points from Graci Standish-Warpus. The score at end of one was 17-13. The start of the second quarter was much the same until the Raiders (2-0) pulled away midway through the second for a 40-25 halftime lead.

Broome could only manage 19 points in the second half while Fulton-Montgomery amassed 52 points behind a balanced attack. Four players reached double digits for the hosts, led by My'eesa Grant with 13 points. Broome was led by Sam Acuna with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Backcourt mate Ana Farahane notched her second double-double in as many games with 10 points and 15 boards.

The Hornets return home next Sunday for a matchup against the NJCAA Division III 3rd ranked Mohawk Valley Hawks, tipoff scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
