The women's basketball team got out to a 17-13 lead after the first quarter but a 7-point second quarter was the difference maker as North Country CC handed Broome a 71-54 loss in Saranac Lake on Saturday. Bridget Rust scored 10 of the Saints 24 points in the second quarter including two 3-pointers. Ana Farahane had 19 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists to lead the Hornets. Sam Acuna added 16 points, Graci Standish-Warpus chipped in with 8 points and Courtney Petticoffer picked up 13 rebounds.

The trip through the Adirondack Park concludes tomorrow in Plattsburgh when SUNY Broome tips off against Clinton CC at noon.
