Consistency Still A Struggle For Women

The women's basketball team fell at home on Saturday 74-64 to Herkimer College in a Region III game. Consistency continues to be a struggle for the Hornets as the Generals got out to a 20-9 first quarter lead and never looked back despite a late surge by the home team. Broome put 25 points on the board in the fourth quarter and outscored Herkimer in the second half but it wasn't enough to overcome the first quarter deficit.

Ana Farahane notched another double-double with 23 points and 10 boards and Sam Acuna chipped in with 16 points, 2 assists and a steal. Courtney Petticoffer picked up 18 boards, 17 of those coming in the second half to go along with 7 points and 2 steals. Graci Standish-Warpus added 6 points, 3 assists and 2 steals and, Annie Tokos had 8 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals. Jazmin Diggs led Herkimer with 27 points.

The Hornets are home again this Wednesday to take on Niagara County CC at 6:00 p.m. in the Baldwin Gymnasium.
