Women Stumble On The Road

The women opened up Mid-State Athletic Conference play in Canandaigua with an 80-46 loss to Finger Lakes CC on Thursday evening. The Hornets trailed the Lakers 25-10 after the first quarter and outscored the visitors by 30 points at the end of the half. The third quarter belonged to Broome but it wasn't enough to overcome Finger Lakes' lead.

Danielle Marshall came off the bench to pace the Hornets with 13 points in 12 minutes of play, Courtney Petticoffer scored 10 points and added 11 boards for a double-double and, Ana Farahane and Grace Doherty chipped in with 7 points apiece. Megan Howell led the Lakers with 28 points.

Broome heads to Dryden on Saturday for a 12:00 p.m. MSAC game against Tompkins Cortland CC.
