Ana Farahane led the women's basketball team to a 66-62 MSAC win over Cayuga CC on Thursday evening in the Baldwin Gym. The Hornets led the Spartans from start to finish on their way to their first MSAC win. Farahane's collegiate-best 39 point night included 76% shooting from the field (13-17), 100% from the arc (6-6) and 100% from the charity stripe (7-7). In addition to her impressive stats from the field, she also notched her 10th double-double in 14 games with 13 boards.  Broome went into the half up 29-22, all but 7 of those points scored by Farahane.

A late rally by Cayuga in the fourth quarter brought the visitors close but a 9-10 showing from the free throw line by Broome helped preserve the win. The Spartans rally late in the fourth was led by Gabby Bell, scoring 14 of her team high 28 points in that final period.

Grace Doherty stepped up with 12 points to go with her 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Courtney Petticoffer had 4 points, 10 rebounds, 3 blocks and 5 assists, none bigger than her dish to Danielle Marshall that started a run by the Hornets. Petticoffer, Marshall and Annie Tokos combined for 6 blocks on the night.

Up next is a trip to Corning CC for a 5:00 p.m. MSAC tip-off against the Red Barons on Wednesday.
