Women Lose On The Road

The women's basketball team lost in Corning last night, 55-38, in a MSAC game against the Red Barons. The Hornets struggled offensively, shooting 25% from the field and 18% from the arc. The 38-point total matched a previous season low back in early December against Niagara County CC.

Corning took a 3 point lead into the half, 18-15 before Broome went on a run early in the third quarter and took a 4 point lead. The Red Barons answered the run and took back the lead at the end of the third and outscored the Hornets 19-9 in the fourth.

Ana Farahane led Broome (2-13;1-4) with 11 points and 7 rebounds, and Grace Doherty chipped in with 7 points and 3 boards. Morgan Stratton spearheaded  Cornings' (13-4;3-3) second half, netting 14 of her game-high 18 points.

Broome will look for their second MSAC win this Saturday in Watertown against Jefferson CC, scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m. On Sunday, they will hit the road again for a Region III matchup against Hudson Valley CC for a 1:00 p.m. game in Troy.
