SUNY Broome fell to Finger Lakes CC, 69-54, on Wednesday evening in the Baldwin Gymnasium. The first half doomed the Hornets as the Lakers put 43 points on the board and the home team put up 21 points, 13 in the first quarter and just 8 in the second quarter.

Broome fared much better in the second half, outscoring the visitors 33-26. Ana Farahane and Grace Doherty led the second half resurgence combining for 23 of the Hornets' 33 points. Farahane finished with 20 points, 14 rebounds and 3 assists, and Doherty added 13 points, 6 boards and 2 assists. Courtney Petticoffer contributed with 10 points and 8 rebounds, and Graci Standish-Warpus chipped in with 9 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists.

Krystal Hunter scored a game-high 28 points to lead the Lakers (16-5;6-2 MSAC) and Janae Brannon added 16 points in the MSAC win over the Hornets (2-15;1-5 MSAC).

Broome hosts Tompkins Cortland CC on Alumni Day in the Baldwin Gym with tipoff beginning at 1:00 p.m. this Saturday. The Jefferson CC game that was postponed on January 28th in Watertown, due to Lake Effect snows, has been rescheduled to Monday, February 6th at 5:00 p.m.
