Women Falter Over The Weekend

The women's basketball team fell on the road to Herkimer College on Saturday, 62-40, and at home on Sunday to Fulton-Montgomery, 71-45.  Against Herkimer College Julianna Mushalla turned in a double-double, scoring a collegiate best 21 points and 10 rebounds, and contributed on the defensive end with 4 steals and a block.  Kasey Krewson had 5 assists, 6 boards and 3 blocks and Clyneia Willard added 9 points and 5 rebounds for the Hornets.

On Sunday, Broome took a 34-29 lead into the half but came out flat in the final two frames, scoring just 5 points in the 3rd quarter and 6 points in the 4th.  Mushalla and Willard led the way for the host team, both scoring 14 points.  Mushalla added 4 assists and Willard grabbed 7 rebounds and a block.  Krewson chipped in with 8 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks and Mikayla Saunders added 5 points, 5 rebounds and a block.

The Hornets will travel to Utica this Wednesday for a Region III matchup against the nationally ranked Hawks from Mohawk Valley, tipoff scheduled for 6:00 P.M.
