The women's basketball team couldn't hang on to the lead late in the fourth quarter and fell to Corning CC, 51-49, Thursday evening on Kenner Court in Corning.  The meeting between the Red Barons and Hornets, the first of three this year, saw the host team take a 19-15 lead at the end of the first quarter before the visitors responded with a 14-7 second, thanks in part to a 9-point performance by freshman Isabella LoVuolo, and take a 3 point lead into the half.  The third quarter ended in a 36-36 stalemate.  Broome took a 6 point lead late into the final frame before Corning's Autumn Edwards tied the game again at 49 all.  Kiara Buxton scored the final bucket of the contest to give the Red Barons game one of the teams three meetings.

LoVuolo led all scorers with a collegiate best 22 points, and added 8 boards, 2 assists, 4 steals and a block to her totals.  Kasey Krewson had 15 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals, and Glory Thomas came off the bench to chip in with 5 points, 5 boards, 1 steal and a block.

Broome returns home this Saturday for a Region III game against Herkimer College scheduled to tip at 1:00 P.M.
