Balanced Effort Leads To Home Victory

The Hornets received scoring from everyone entering the game in their defeat of Herkimer College on Saturday at home, 56-49, in a Region III contest.  Broome held a 27-20 lead going into the half and a 37-32 advantage after the third before Herkimer threatened late in the fourth.  Several key rebounds and free throws by Anna Hotalen, and a big 3-pointer by Julianna Mushalla late in the fourth sealed the win for the host team.

Broome's balanced effort saw all players entering the game get into the scoring column, led by Mushalla's 11 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals.  Also in double digits were Hotalen with 10 points and Glory Thomas, off the bench, with 10 points.  Both players also contributed with 8 rebounds apiece in the winning effort.  Isabella LoVuolo chipped in with 9 points and 4 steals in the contest. 

The Hornets improved to 3-6 overall and 3-1 in Region III while the Generals fell to 3-5 overall and 3-5 in Region III.  Broome will travel this Monday to Fulton, NY for a 5:00 P.M. game against Fulton-Montgomery.
