vs Davis

The women's basketball team defeated Davis College on Tuesday night, 49-42, in a contest that saw both teams struggle to reach double digits in 4 of the 8 quarters played.  The two teams played back on November 7th with the Falcons coming out on top, 65-56 in the Richard Robb Gymnasium, thanks in part to Elizabeth Singleton's 29 points.  The defensive battle saw the Hornets go ahead 9-5 after the first quarter before the Falcons rallied back to take a 19-15 lead into the half.  Broome came out and started the second half much the way they started the game, holding the usually potent Davis offense to just 6 points while the host team dropped 19 in the quarter.  Five different players entered the scoring column in the third quarter, led by Kasey Krewson's 5 points, to give the Hornets a lead they would not relinquish.

Isabella LoVuolo led Broome with 15 points and Miya Ritchie came off the bench to score 11 points.  Anna Hotalen also came off the bench to grab 10 rebounds and score 7 points while teammate Brenna Gioffe scored 7 points and pulled in 8 boards.  Singleton led all players with 20 points, 14 of them coming in the final 10 minutes of play.

The Hornets will travel to Bethlehem, PA on Thursday to close out the semester with Northampton CC, tip-off scheduled at 5:00 P.M.
