For the second time in as many games the women's basketball team held their opponent to under 50 points, this one a Thursday evening 63-45 win against Northampton CC down in Bethlehem, PA.  The Spartans got on the board first, just under two minutes into the contest, before the Hornets settled in and got to work.  Broome received scoring from all five starters in the first quarter including two baskets each from Kasey Krewson, Julianna Mushalla and Anna Hotalen en route to a 17-5 run to end the first.  Seven players figured in the scoring in the second quarter led by Isabella LoVuolo with 5 points as the visitors picked up another 17 points for a 34-18 advantage at the half.  Northampton was never able to recover from Broome's quick start despite the 3-point shooting of point guard, Kelsey Miller, hitting 5 of her 7 attempts.

The Hornets had 16 assists in all, led by Mushalla with 4, and 40 rebounds in the contest, led by Hotalen's 12 boards.  LoVuolo led all scoring with 17 points and picked up 8 steals and 8 rebounds in the winning effort.  Mushalla had 15 points, draining 7 of her 13 attempts while teammate Miya Ritchie added 14 points, hitting 6 out of her 10 shots coming off the bench, and added 6 steals to her lines.

Broome will return to action on Thursday, January 10th with a road trip out to Canandaigua, NY for their first MSAC contest of the season against Finger Lakes CC, scheduled to start at 5:30 P.M.
