The women's basketball team fell to Jefferson CC, 67-54, in a MSAC contest played in Watertown on Monday night. The first half proved to be the difference in the game as the Cannoneers held a 21 point lead going into the half, 41-20. Kasey Krewson scored the first 5 points in the third quarter to get the Hornets started off on the right path but the visitors trailed by one in the third frame, 15-14. Broome took the fourth from Jefferson, 20-11 but the first half deficit was to much for the Hornets to overcome.
Broome received scoring from all players in the MSAC matchup, including a collegiate best by Cassondra Raymond. Anna Hotalen paced the Hornets with 12 points and 15 rebounds, posting a double-double in all eight conference games. Julianna Mushalla put up 8 points, 4 assists and 3 steals, and Miya Ritchie came off the bench for 9 points and 2 assists. Krewson and Isabella LoVuolo dropped 7 points each, the former adding 4 steals and 3 blocks to her lines. Chelsey Raven led three Cannoneers in double figures with 18 points.
Up next is a trip up 81 to face the Conference leader, and #5 ranked Lazers from Onondaga CC with a scheduled tip-off at 5:00 P.M.
