Three 2nd-year players being recognized

Julianna Mushalla, Kasey Krewson and Taylor Voorhis were recognized on Tuesday evening prior to the start of their last home game in a Hornet uniform.  The Hornets fell to the Cannoneers, 83-60, in their last regular season game played in the Baldwin Gymnasium.  Broome stumbled out of the gate and fell behind Jefferson by a score of 29-12 after the first quarter.  The Hornets fared better in the last three frames but never threatened the visitors.

Julianna Mushalla finished her night with 14 points, 5 assists and 5 rebounds. The Co-Captain played in 24 games this year and averaged 8 ppg, 3.9 rpg and 4.3 apg.  Kasey Krewson ended her night with a rare double-double, 11 rebounds and 11 blocked shots to go along with 3 assists and 4 points.  Krewson, the other co-captain for the Hornets, played in all 25 games this season and averaged 7.4 ppg, 4.5 rpg and had 56 blocks on the year.  Softball player turned basketball player in the winter months, Taylor Voorhis, earned her first start in two years  against the Cannoneers.  Voorhis' contributions to the team over the past two seasons were not in the stat lines but in the selfless act of giving her time and effort to support her teammates.

Miya Ritchie came of the bench for 19 points, surpassing her previous collegiate high of 18 points just ten days earlier against Cayuga.  Anna Hotalen picked up another double-double, scoring 17 points and grabbing 18 rebounds while teammate Cassondra Raymond chipped in with 4 points and, turned in season highs in both minutes played and rebounds with 37 and 8 respectively.
