Women Split Weekend Homestand

Broome opened this weekend with a two game homestand, falling to North Country CC 83-37 on Saturday, and defeating Clinton CC 77-42 on Sunday.  On Saturday the Hornets competed in the the first quarter with the Saints, currently in the #2 spot on the NJCAA's latest poll, despite hitting only one field goal.  It was all Saints after that as the Hornets struggled to find the basket, shooting 27% from the field on the afternoon.  Bekah Richter was the lone Hornet to reach the double digit mark with 10 points, followed by Daisy Allen with 8 points and Kori Thornton with 7 points.  

Sunday was a different story for the host team as they shot 47% from the field and 91% from the charity stripe.  All nine players found their way into the scoring column led by Anna Hotalen's 16 points and 12 boards.  Three other Broome players were in double figures, Calista Smith dropped 13 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished out 5 assists, Miya Ritchie added 12 points and had 4 assists, and Vanessa Groover chipped in with 10 points. 

Broome improved to 1-5 overall; 1-1 in Region III and will travel to Herkimer College next Saturday for a 1:00 P.M. tip off against the Generals.
