Women's Soccer Team Keeps Unblemished Record Intact

The women's soccer team defeated Jefferson CC 2-0 at  Alumni Field Wednesday afternoon in a MSAC contest. Rosemary Zelenyak (Binghamton, NY/Susquehanna Valley) got the first, and what proved to be the winning goal.  At 9:36 of the opening period she picked up a loose ball about 30 yards out, beat two defenders and slotted a beautiful ball past the keeper.  Kaelyn Michitti (Binghamton, NY/Seton Catholic) scored the final goal of the game at 33:22 of the same period off a through ball placed nicely into the box by Alexa Rudilosso (Centereach, NY/Centereach). Although the Hornets had the bulk of the possession on the day, they couldn't get another score by the Cannoneer keeper Katie Aldrich who had 17 saves. The Hornets outshot the visitors 37-1 and held the edge in corners 5-1.

This Hornets (8-0;4-0 MSAC) are next in action this Sunday at home in a Region III match against Jamestown CC scheduled to start at 1:00 P.M.
