The women's soccer team hosted Hudson Valley CC Wednesday afternoon in a matchup of Region III powers and came away with a 3-0 victory. The win was Broome's 9th shutout of the season. Emily Cortese (Binghamton, NY/Susquehanna Valley) scored quickly at 1:21 of the first half on a 25 yard shot over the Vikings goalkeeper and 16 seconds later Nicole Harmer (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) followed up with another 25 yard shot from the other flank.  After a well played, balanced first half and a physically demanding second half, Kaelyn Michitti (Binghamton, NY/Seton Catholic) got SUNY Broome on the board one more time on a penalty kick after getting taken down in the box in the 58th minute. Broome outshot the visitors 17-7 and dominated in the corners 9-1.

The Hornets (12-1-1;5-0 MSAC) continue their homestand on Saturday with a 2:00 P.M. match against the Kats from Erie CC.
