The women's soccer team defeated conference rival Finger Lakes CC 2-0 at Alumni Field on campus this afternoon in their home opener. Kaelyn Michitti scored to get the Hornets on the board at 26:31 of the first half to start the season. The match was played evenly until Marissa Michitti scored in the 86th minute to lock it up. Allison O'Shea assisted on both goals.
The defense played well this afternoon allowing only eight shots on goal and three corners. Jolene Krom stopped all eight of those shots for the Hornets.
The Hornets are off until next Wednesday when they'll travel to Corning CC for a 4:30 p.m. match against the Red Barons.
