Hornets Fall To Division I ASA College At Home

The women's soccer team, currently ranked #2 in the latest NJCAA poll, fell 5-2 to ASA College Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field. The fast paced game saw ASA, ranked #5 in the NJCAA, strike first at 1:13.  The Hornets had several chances but finally drew even 42 minutes later on a PK by Kaelyn Michitti who followed up on her own shot for the score and send both teams into the half with one goal apiece. Less than 30 seconds into the second half the Hornets struck again as Michitti scored her second goal of the game on a through ball from Mikaela Mazerolle passed on by Allison O'Shea.

The game continued evenly until the 64 minute mark when Divison I ASA put together a series of great strikes to take an insurmountable 5-2 lead. Ilana Mendenca had a hat trick for the visiting team. Jolene Krom had 9 saves for the Hornets. Broome was outshot 15-7 by the Avengers and lost the battle in corner kicks 14-5.
