The women's soccer team rebounded from Saturday's loss against DI ASA College with a 5-1 win over Jefferson CC in a MSAC matchup Wednesday afternoon in Watertown. The Hornets got on the board first in the 13th minute as Emiley Myers scored off a Nicole Harmer crossing ball. Myers got her second goal from a through ball by Kendra Henry to push the score to 2-0 at the half. The Hornets stayed vigilant in the second half by possessing the ball a great share of the time and scoring three more goals, one by Harmer and two by Kaelyn Michitti. Bryanna Gagnon put the Cannoneers on the board off a free kick goal. Broome (7-1) outshot Jefferson (3-3) 30-6 and each team had two corner kicks in the contest. Jolene Krom had three saves in net for the Hornets.
Broome, ranked #2 in the latest NJCAA Division III poll, will host Region III rival Herkimer College this Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
