Michitti Named Region III & MSAC Player Of The Year

Kaelyn Michitti led the Hornets with post season accolades while six other teammates earned spots on both the All-Region and All-Conference Teams.

The Hornets were the 2016 MSAC Champions with a perfect 6-0 record. In addition to Michitti being named the 2016 MSAC Player of the Year five other players were named to the 2016 MSAC Women's Soccer All-Conference Team: Emily Gibson, Nicole Harmer, Emiley Myers, Marissa Michitti and Mikaela Mazerolle received the honor. Coach Bill Rich was named MSAC Co-Coach of the Year for his efforts.

The women finished the year with an unblemished record of 17-0 in Region III, good enough for 1st place in the Region, and as the top team in nation according to the latest NJCAA Division III polls. K. Michitti, Myers and Gibson earned 1st Team All-Region recognition and Margaret Edwards, Harmer and Mazerolle made the 2nd Team. 

Broome defeated Herkimer College in the District A Final and advanced to the 2016 NJCAA Division III National Championships for the second consecutive year. Mazerolle was named Tournament MVP while teammates Jolene Krom, Harmer and Gibson were named to the All-Tournament Team. SUNY Broome will enter the tournament as the #1 seed. The Championships run from November 10th - 13th in Toms River, NJ hosted by Ocean County College.
