The women's soccer team defeated Anoka-Ramsey CC 6-0 yesterday and Brookhaven College 1-0 today to advance to the 2016 NJCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship game on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. in Toms River, NJ.

Against Anoka-Ramsey on Thursday, Kaelyn Michitti scored four of the Hornets six goals including two unassisted. Sister, Marissa Michitti and Nicole Harmer accounted for the other two goals. Harmer assisted on K Michitti's second goal and, Alexa Rudilosso and Lindsey Aingworth assisted on her third. The sister act came in the fourth goal of the match when M Machitti received an assist from K Michitti. In the 79th minute Aingworth earned her second assist when she found Harmer for the last goal of the contest. As they have done to teams all season long, the defense and keeper Jolene Krom held the Golden Rams to just 3 shots on goal while the Hornets amassed 23 shots. Broome also had 9 corners kicks while Anoka-Ramsey could not get one in the match. K Michitti got her 41st goal and 93rd point of the season, good enough to lead the nation in both statistical categories.

Before today's match could reach the two-minute mark against Brookhaven, Broome's Emiley Myers scored courtesy of assists from K Michitti and Rudilosso. The remainder of the match was played without a goal from the Hornets or the Bears.

Today's win against Brookhaven will place SUNY Broome and Coach Bill Rich in the NJCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship game on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. on the campus of Ocean County CC in Toms River, NJ. Coach Rich and the Hornets will compete for their third title, Broome won back-to-back National Championships in 2007 and 2008.
