National Champs!

The SUNY Broome women's soccer team defeated Erie CC 3-0 this afternoon in the 2016 NJCAA Division III Women's Soccer title match played in Toms River, NJ. Kaelyn Michitti ended her career at Broome with a hat trick in the National Tournament. Michitti's goals came in the 4th minute, 10th minute and 55th minute. Alexa Rudilosso assisted on two of those goals and Lindsey Aingworth assisted on another. Michitti led the nation in goals with 44 and points with 100. Keeper Jolene Krom had three shutouts for the tournament while the Hornets tallied 10 goals over the three game span.

Michitti was named tournament MVP and Most Valuable Offensive Player, totaling seven goals and two assists and, Emily Gibson earned Most Valuable Defensive Player. Joining them on the All-Tournament Team were Rudilosso, Margaret Edwards and Bill Rich earned Coach of the Tournament honors.

SUNY Broome finished the season with a 21-1-0 record enroute to the soccer programs third national title.
