Women's Season Comes To An End

The women's soccer season came to an end on Tuesday evening after a 7-0 road loss to Onondaga in the Region III Quarterfinals.  The Lazers (9-7-1) proved to be to much for the Hornets (9-7-1), specifically Brianna Wieszczynski who had 5 breakaway goals on the way to their win.  Cheyenne VanGee and Miranda Ponto rounded out the scoring for the home team.  Onondaga, the 8th seed in the tournament, advances to take on the number 1 seed, Herkimer College, in Herkimer this Thursday in the Semifinal match.  Broome outshot Onondaga 18-16 and also held the advantage in corners, 7-4.   Paige Finch had 13 saves in net on the night for the Hornets.
