The women's soccer team opened their 2018 season with an 8-0 shutout over Region III opponent Finger Lakes CC on Wednesday afternoon at Alumni Field. In all, nine Hornets got in on the scoring in the lopsided victory against the Lakers.
Broome scored 4 goals in each half. The first half saw Hannah Faulkner notch her first collegiate goal and first hat trick of the season and Linsey Howell added the other goal for the 4-0 halftime lead. Faulkner beat two defenders in the box to open the scoring at the 16:39 mark and the Hornets never looked back.
The second half saw four different players find the back of the net, the first by Nicole Madison, followed by Mackensie Gravelin, Daniella Ricci and Kayla Kromelbein. Paige Finch earned the win in goal for Broome.
