The women's soccer team traveled to Corning CC on Wednesday for a MSAC match and came out on top, 2-1.  A hard fought and tightly contested first half found its first goal in the 32nd minute when the Hornets' Hannah Faulkner found sophomore Nicole Madison in the box for a quick shot that beat the Red Barons' keeper, Taylor Gray, at the near post for a 1-0 lead.  The half ended with the Hornets outshooting the Red Barons by the slim margin of 6-5.

The second half was more of the same when in the 54th minute Kayla Kromelbein was fed a beautiful through ball by Katelynn Griffiths that she finished from deep in the box.  Kromelbein's goal proved to be the game winner as the Hornets gave up a late goal by the Red Barons.  Broome keeper, Paige Finch finished the game with 11 saves to rule out any chance that Corning had to tie up the game.  The Hornets continued to hold a slim advantage in shots on goal the second half 8-7, while Corning edged out the visitors 7-6 in corners for the game.

The Hornets next travel to Niagara County CC on Saturday for a 1:00 P.M. match followed by a home match on Sunday at 2:00 P.M. against Holyoke CC.
