Balanced Effort Leads To Road Win

The Hornets saw eight players figure in on the scoring in a 9-0 win against Niagara County CC on Saturday afternoon in Sanborn, NY.  Broome (3-0) started the scoring early and continued often as Daniella Ricci scored her first collegiate goal in the 4th minute staking the Hornets to the early 1-0 lead. An assist by Ricci in the 13th minute found Chloe Brauer in the box to notch the second goal. Goals by Kayla KromelbeinAlissa Franco, Hannah Faulkner and Nicole Madison rounded out the first half scoring giving the Hornets a 6-0 lead over the Thunderwolves going into the break.
 
The second half was much of the same with the Hornets garnering much of the possession while finishing goals by Franco, Faulkner, and Katelynn Griffiths for the final margin.  The defense recorded their second shutout of the young season while allowing only 1 goal in their first three contests.  Paige Finch, Kara Knickerbocker and Leria Compeau combined for 6 saves in net with Finch earning the win.  Broome outshot Niagara 30-7 and topped the host team 7-3 in corners.
 
The Hornets are right back at it Sunday at 2:00 P.M. for a home match against Holyoke CC from Massachusetts.
