The women's soccer team fell to Herkimer College on Saturday afternoon 2-0 in a match played in Herkimer, NY.  The nation's 4th ranked team scored two early goals, both by Sarah George, before the Hornets settled in defensively to shut out the Generals for the balance of the game. Gaining confidence as the game went on, Broome created many scoring chances inside the Herkimer 18 yard box but couldn't best the Generals GK, Rachel Todd who had 8 saves on the day.  Hornet GK Paige Finch had 9 saves on the day.

"It was an excellent final 65 minutes after a fairly rough start against a top team, but it was definitely well played by the Hornets and a step forward.   We are excited for the balance of of the season", said head coach Bill Rich.

The Hornets next challenge will be a Region III match against SUNY Adirondack on Wednesday, at 1:30 P.M. in Queensbury.
