SUNY Broome visited Tompkins Cortland CC on Wednesday in a matchup of MSAC teams and came away with a rain soaked 2-0 win.  The match began in the rain and ended in the rain with a smattering of heavy downpours throughout.  Both teams battled back and forth for the entire match with neither team gaining a great advantage.  The score at the end of the first half ended up in a 0-0 tie.

The Hornets were able to find the net twice in a span of 41 seconds.  Katelynn Griffiths broke through at 58:48 with a shot from ten yards out off a through ball from Anastasia Rusnak.  Griffiths followed that with another finish of a through ball delivered across the box by Daisy Allen at 59:29, just out of the reach of the Panther goalkeeper.  Rhiannon Beers earned the Hornets seventh shutout of the season in net, including one save that slipped through her hands but managed to grab it before it crossed the goal line.

Broome moves to 10-3 overall; 4-1 MSAC while Tompkins Cortland falls to 4-7-1 overall; 1-3-1 MSAC.  Up next is a pivotal Region III contest against Genesee CC (10-4) beginning at 1:00 P.M. at Alumni Field.
