The women's soccer team defeated Genesee CC 3-1 on Saturday in a key Region III contest played on Alumni Field. Linsey Howell struck first for the Hornets scoring at 22:56 of the first half off a drop pass by Daisy Allen. Allen struck twice in less than three minutes, at 26:41 unassisted for the game winner and, 29:02 from a Hannah Faulkner rebound. Allen ended the day with 2 goals and 1 assist to lead the Hornets to their 7th consecutive win. The second half turned into a back and forth affair with neither the Hornets or Cougars able to find that elusive goal. Broome moved up to 9-2 in Region III while Genesee fell to 10-3 in the Region.
Wednesday, the Hornets will travel to Finger Lakes CC for a 2:00 P.M. MSAC match, the winner of which will be crowned MSAC Champions.
