The women's soccer team traveled to Canandaigua on Wednesday for a match against Finger Lakes CC with the MSAC title on the line and came home with Broome's 14th conference championship.  The Hornets gave up a goal early in the first half before Linsey Howell scored the first of her three goals at 5:33.  Howell proceeded to net two more balls at 33:19 and 34:34 to complete the hat trick, all before the intermission.

The second half started much like the first with the Lakers scoring another early goal at 46:22, and six minutes later Alexis Gossage earned a hat trick of her own to even the game at 3-3.  For the next ten minutes the contest went back and forth with the Hornets keeper Leria Compeau making some key saves to keep the score even.  In the 56th minute Katelynn Griffiths scored the game winner and the defense kept the host team at bay the rest of the way for the 4-3 victory.

Next up are the Region III  Playoffs beginning with a home match next Thursday, time and opponent TBD.
