Broome dropped a heart breaker on Sunday in the Region III District B final to Herkimer College by a score of 2-1.  The Generals, currently the NJCAA's 5th ranked team, took the lead early on a breakaway goal in the 13th minute of play and followed that up with another breakaway goal in the 36th minute.  The Hornets continued to fight to get back in the game and in the 44th minute Hannah Faulkner headed home a corner kick from Linsey Howell to cut into the Generals lead and go into the half trailing 2-1.

The second half was a battle for 45 minutes with neither team getting more than one shot on goal.  Broome got into the Herkimer box with several chances but couldn't find the equalizer.

Broome ended their season with a record of 13-4, scored 84 goals and allowed only 19.  The season was highlighted by 8 shutouts and a 9 game winning streak.
