Women's Tennis Earns 5th Straight Win

The women's tennis team swept Herkimer College 9-0 on the road yesterday afternoon in Herkimer to improve to 5-0 on the year.

Singles Scores:

2. Molly Secord (Johnson City, NY/Johnson City)) def Jordan Mercer (Herkimer) 6-1, 6-1

3. Leigh Ann Hiser (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) def Maxine Grogan (Herkimer) 6-2, 6-1

4. Jill Burns (Johnson City, NY/Johnson City) def Dani Engert (Herkimer) 8-4

5. Madison Tassey (Binghamton, NY/Johnson City) def Guihua Gan (Herkimer) 6-0, 6-0

6. Madison Brennan (Owego, NY/Owego Free Academy) def Meghan Whitmayer (Herkimer)6-0, 6-0



Doubles Scores:

1. Mott/Secord (Broome) defeated Kobayshey/Mercer (Herkimer) 8-2

2. Burns/Tassey (Broome) defeated Grogan/Engert (Herkimer) 8-6

3. Hiser/Brennan (Broome) defeated Gan/Whitmayer (Herkimer) 8-0

Secord improved to 4-1 for the season at 2nd singles. Hiser is 4-0 in singles and doubles. Burns, Tassey and Brennan all improve to 5-0 for the season in singles and doubles.  Mott and Secord are 4-1 at first doubles.  Broome's next match is this Saturday in Syracuse against Onondaga CC.
