Maria Mott and Molly Secord both advanced in the second day of the Mercer Invitational.


Singles Semifinal:

Singles Consolation:

1. Daji O'Geen (Broome) def. Alexis Pierce (Rowan CC) 6-0 6-2
5. Olivia Borihane (Broome) def. Veronica Donofrio (Rowan CC) 6-2 6-1

Doubles Semifinal:

1. Marykathryn Healy/Caroline Kawula (Oxford) def. O'Geen/Mott (Broome) 6-1 6-0

Doubles Consolation:

2. Allison Kutz/Abbey Rupert (Illinois Valley CC) def. Secord/Tassey 4-6 6-4 (10-5)

After two days of competition the Hornets are in fourth place out of seven teams and earned spots in two main draw finals.  At fourth singles Tassey put up a great fight eventually to lose in her main draw semifinal. Mott and Secord played very well in their semifinals today and will play tomorrow morning in the final. O'Geen and Borihane both dominated in their consolation semis to earn a spot in the consolation final.  O'Geen/Mott won their consolation semi without dropping a game and are looking forward to their final tomorrow.  Borihane/Senat will also compete in the consolation doubles final.
