The Hornets earned their second 9-0 sweep in a row on Wednesday afternoon in Herkimer, NY against the Generals. In the eight matches played, the Hornets (3-1) only dropped 7 games in all. At No.1 singles Shyanne Daye (Binghamton, NY/Susquehanna Valley) improved her record to 2-2 on the season with an impressive 6-0, 6-0 victory. The two other 6-0, 6-0 winners were No.3 Chelsea Deuel (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) and No.5 Kara Shanks (Erie, PA/McDowell). Shanks improved her record to 3-1 on the season and Deuel remains undefeated in singles and doubles at 4-0. No.2 Madison Murphy (Clay, NY/Cicero-North) improved her record to 3-1 on the season with 6-0, 6-1 wins. Mollie Elder (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Forks) won at the No.6 spot by scores of 6-0, 6-1 and is now 2-1 on the season. Emily Whitaker (Vestal, NY/Vestal) played her best match of the season at No.4 as she too only dropped one game in her 6-0, 6-1 victory.
