Tennis Picks Up 3rd Consecutive Win

The SUNY Broome women's tennis team earned their 3rd consecutive win on Wednesday in Utica against Mohawk Valley CC by a score of 7-2.  At No.1 singles Shyanne Daye (Binghamton, NY/Susquehanna Valley) put in a great effort in her defeat today.  After starting slowly she fought back to grab the lead in the second set, but just came up short losing 6-2, 7-5.  At No.2 singles Madison Murphy (Clay, NY/Cicero North) pulled out a close second set 6-4 to improve her record to 4-1 on the season.  Chelsea Deuel (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) continues her undefeated roll at the No.3 spot as she has dropped only 1 of her 13 singles games.  No.4 Emily Whitaker (Vestal, NY/Vestal), No.5 Kara Shanks (Erie, PA/McDowell), and No.6 Mollie Elder (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Forks) all won their matches, each of them won at least one of their sets 6-0.

Whitaker and Deuel remain undefeated in their five matches at second doubles after their 8-6 victory.
