Tennis Avenges Only Loss

SUNY Broome doubles players waiting for return
vs Onondaga

The women's tennis team defeated Onondaga CC in Syracuse on Sunday 5-4, avenging a 5-4 loss back on September 12th to the Lazers.  No.1 Shyanne Daye (Binghamton, NY/Susquehanna Valey), No.4 Emily Whitaker (Vestal, NY/Vestal), and No.5 Kara Shanks (Erie, PA/McDowell) all avenged previous losses to their opponents.  No.2 Madison Murphy (Clay, NY/Cicero-North) remains undefeated in Region III play as she clinched the win for the Hornets when she pulled out a tight third set tiebreaker.  No.3 Chelsea Deuel (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) and No.6 Mollie Elder (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Forks) both suffered losses, Elder in a second set tiebreaker and Deuel in a tough three set battle.

Broome will host Mohawk Valley CC this Tuesday at 3:30 P.M. followed by another 4:00 P.M. match on Wednesday against Herkimer College CC.
