Hornets Win At Home

The Onondaga Lazers traveled to the Oz Winters Tennis Complex on Sunday and left with the Hornets coming out on top, 7-2.   No.1 singles, Shyanne Daye, once again pulled out a tight first set then cruised in the second set only dropping two games.  No.2 singles, Brianna Harmon, handled a tough opponent that kept it close early in the first and second sets but in the end Harmon took control, dropping only four games on her way to victory.  No.3 singles, Kimberly Yuhnick, had an easy first set but in the second set the points were longer and she fell behind 3-2 before gather herself to win the next 3 out of 4 games to close out the match.  No.4 singles, Kara Shanks, played well like she has all season as she defeated her opponent only dropping 4 games.  No.6 singles, Breona Bogart, squeezed out a very close first set.  With the score tied at 5-5 in the first set, Bogart took the next eight games to close out her match. Bogart also teamed up with her doubles partner, Sara Figura, to win a see-saw match by only two games.
