The Hornets began their 2019 campaign in Troy on Sunday against Hudson Valley CC with a 6-0 win. Second year player Brianna Harmon won convincingly at first singles not dropping a game. Three first year players all won their singles matches as well: Colleen Samsel won at #2 singles, Anika Mott won at #3 singles, and Rose Kane won at #4 singles.
In doubles action the Hornets went 2-0 on the day after first year player Jenna Yezzi and second year player Breona Bogart teamed up at first doubles to win their match 8-6. Emily Jones and Alyona Dwyer, also first year players, won easily only dropping one game in their 8-1 win.
Broome will face Herkimer College this Wednesday in Herkimer, scheduled for a 4:00 P.M. start.
