Region III Champs

The Hornets won the 2019 Region III Championship on Sunday at Drumlins Country Club in Syracuse, NY. After sweeping the doubles finals yesterday, Broome won five of the six singles finals to regain the title. Three first year players took home the title, Anika Mott (#3), Rose Kane (#4), and Jenna Yezzi (#5) all won their final matches in two sets, Yezzi without losing one game. The two returning players that also won a singles title were Brianna Harmon (#1) and Breona Bogart (#5), also winning in two sets. Bogart rebounded this year after last year's final loss while Harmon earned her second title after winning last year's final at 2nd singles.

4. Rose Kane (Broome) def. Amanda Roberts (Mohawk) 6-0, 6-0

2. Mott/Kane (Broome) def. Cammarata/Nguyen (Hudson Valley) 6-0, 6-0

2. Mott/Kane (Broome) def. Lesselworth/Freeman (Onondaga) 6-1, 6-4
