The volleyball team won their first match before dropping their next two in Auburn on Saturday at POD host Cayuga CC. In the first match of the day the Hornets defeated the Spartans 3-2 by set scores of 17-25, 25-17, 25-15, 25-27, 15-10. Aginst Jefferson CC in match two the Cannoneers swept the Hornets 3-2 by set scores of 25-12, 25-18, 25-18. In the final match of the day Broome fell to Onondaga CC 3-1 by set scores of 25-17, 25-19, 16-25, 25-16.
Stat leaders for the tournament were Madison Paugh (Harpursville, NY/Harpursville) with 23 kills and 53 digs, Sarah Raichlin (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) had 100 assists including 51 in in the first match, Raichlin also led the Hornets with 4 aces and Melissa Alden (Warner Robbins, GA/Northside) had 13 blocks on the day.
The Hornets (4-4) play in Dryden on Wednesday at 6:00 PM against Tompkins Cortland CC in a MSAC match.
