Volleyball Picks Up Win On The Road

The volleyball team picked up their second win in as many days, this one a 3-2 win in Corning against the Red Barons. The Hornets (2-0) fell in the first set 24-26 before taking the next two 25-22 and 28-26. The fourth set belonged to the host team 20-25 but the fifth and deciding set was taken by the visitors, 15-12.

Leading the way for SUNY Broome were six freshman. Sarah Bobier (Windsor, NY/Windsor) with 16 kills, Madison Delaney-Hammond (Owego, NY/Owego Free Academy) had 25 assists, Rachel Mattson (Vestal, NY/Vestal) had 5 aces along with 36 digs, Lauren Carpenter (Vestal, NY/Maine-Endwell) chipped in with 35 digs and Hannah Lazarus (South New Berlin) had 9 blocks.

Up next for the Hornets is a trip up I81 for a 6:00 p.m. match against the Lazers from Onondaga CC.
