Volleyball Goes 2-1 In Dryden

The volleyball team improved to 5-1 on Saturday in the Tompkins Cortland CC POD by defeating Onondaga CC (3-4) and Cayuga CC (4-5) before falling to Jefferson CC (9-1). Rachel Ballard turned in a big day for the Hornets with 4 blocks in game one, 3 aces in game two and 14 kills and 8 blocks in game three.

In the first match of the day Broome earned a 3-1 win over Onondaga CC by set scores of 25-12, 23-25, 25-13, 25-15. Stat leaders for game one were:
Kills - Hannah Lazarus 12
Assists - Paige Redmond 15, Madison Delaney-Hammond 15
Aces - Rachel Mattson 10
Blocks - Lazarus 4, Rachel Ballard 4

Digs - Lauren Carpenter 23

The second match of the day was also a win for Broome against Cayuga CC 3-0 by set scores of 25-22, 25-12, 25-12. Stat leaders for game two were:

Assists - Delaney-Hammond 20
Aces - Ballard 3
Blocks - Lazarus 8

Digs - Carpenter 13

The final match of the day was the Hornets' first loss of the year to Jefferson CC 2-3 by set scores of 25-14, 20-25, 14-25, 25-19, 13-15. Stat leaders for game three were:
Kills - Ballard 14
Assists - Delaney-Hammond  26
Aces - Madison Hefley 4
Blocks - Ballard 8

Digs - Mattson 39
