The volleyball team traveled to Utica on Saturday for the Mohawk Valley CC POD tournament and finished 2-1 on the day with victories over Herkimer College and Mohawk.

 

The first match of the day was a 3-2 win over Herkimer by set scores of 19-25, 25-15, 25-15, 18-25, 15-10.  Kaitlin Manley (Willet, NY/Cincinnatus) totaled 22 kills, 4 aces and 8 blocks, Taylor Hessler (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) contributed 46 assists, Lauren Carpenter (Vestal, NY/Maine-Endwell) totaled 30 digs and, Rayna Pouliot (Syracuse, NY/Onondaga) had 23 digs.

 

The second match of the day was a loss to Fulton Montgomery 1-3 by set scores of 13-25, 19-25, 28-26, 18-25.  Manley totaled 7 kills and 3 blocks, Hessler had 20 assists and, Carpenter had 3 aces and 23 digs.  Pouliot chipped in with 18 digs.

 

The third match of the day was a 5 set win over Mohawk 3-2 by set scores of 12-25, 18-25, 26-24, 25-21, 15-12.  Manley had 16 kills, 3 aces, and 3 blocks, Hessler had 32 assists and Carpenter had 22 digs.

 

Broome improved to 7-4 on the season and will face Jefferson CC this Wednesday at 6:00 P.M. in the West Gym.
