Volleyball Picks Up Two Wins In Monroe CC POD

Broome competed in their final regular season POD tournament on Saturday at Monroe CC and went 2-1 on the day.

The first match of the day was a straight set win against Finger Lakes CC with set scores of 25-21, 25-16, 25-19.  Kaitlin Manley had 13 kills and 4 blocks while teammate Camre Compeau chipped in with 6 kills.  Taylor Hessler had 36 assists and 4 blocks and Lauren Carpenter had 16 digs. 

The second match was a win over Genesee CC, 3-1 with set scores of 22-25, 25-17, 25-21, 25-22.  Manley had 15 kills and Ni'esa Davidson contributed with 9, Hessler had 36 assists, Rayna Pouliot had 3 aces, Lyndsay Powell had 17 digs and Manley led the team with 12 blocks.

The final match of the day was a loss to Monroe CC, 3-0 with set scores of 25-6, 25-23, 25-21.  Manley had 9 kills, 2 aces, and 6 blocks while Hessler had 17 assists and Pouliot had 19 digs.

The team ended the regular season 15-14 overall and 10-7 in POD play.  The Hornets now wait to find out their fate when the seeding committee meets next Tuesday to discuss what teams advance to the NJCAA Region III Tournament.
