Volleyball Improves To 6-0

Volleyball improved their record to 6-0 on Saturday by defeating Jefferson CC 3-0, Onondaga CC 3-2 and Cayuga CC 3-0 at the Corning POD tournament.  
 
The first match of the day was a win against Jefferson Community College in straight sets.  Set scores: 25-23, 25-19, 25-18.  Mckenzi Donahue had 12 kills, 10 digs, and 2 aces during the match to lead the Hornets.  Paige Taylor contributed 9 kills and 6 blocks while Brianna Kosinski had 41 assists.
 
The second match of the day was a five set thriller against Onondaga Community College.  Set scores: 18-25, 25-23, 25-22, 13-25, 15-11.  This was the second meeting of these two teams and the second five set victory for Broome this season.  Mackinzie Mee led the offense with 14 kills and Taylor added 10 kills.  Kosinski totaled 35 assists, 21 digs, 4 kills, and 2 blocks and Donahue led in digs with 27.
 
The final match of the day was against Cayuga Community College, another won in straight sets.  Set scores: 25-9, 25-13, 25-11.  Setter, Kosinski totalled 20 assists, 5 aces, 3 kills, and 12 digs during the match.  Taylor and Mee contributed 8 kills a piece while Meghan Campbell led in blocks with 3.
 
Broome will travel to Dryden on Thursday for a MSAC match against Tompkins Cortland CC with a scheduled start time of 6:00 P.M.
